You’re Here (The Converse Event Series), Berlin, January 21-28

You’re Here celebrates creativity through the lenses of art, music and skate. The europewide platform will activate consumers to participate in the creative process through a series of local events. The Converse Event Series "You’re Here" kicked off in Berlin with follow-up editions in London, Paris and Milan throughout Spring 2010. In collaboration with Lodown Magazine, You’re Here Berlin invited local creatives to get involved with music, art, creative workshops and skate happenings across the span of seven days. The event opened on Thursday, January 21st with a special showcase featuring Converse artist partners Felix, Mentalgassi, Herr Schulze, OkayOkay and Marok vs.Studio Anti.

Marok vs. Studio Anti
The Theme is an adaptation of the Traphic* Project visuals with a weathered look, this means a touch of decay that human assembling and natural powers leave on the surface of our industrial manmade products.

The main piece is an electric and interactive installation of spotlights (using energysaving neonbulbs) that form an iconic lightplay, that enlightens the sidewalk and gallery window. The Lightdisplay can be programed by the visitor or will runs by itself.

*TRAPHIC presents an interpretation of various networks, time frames, experiences and the general surroundings of modern-day existence, through a combination of visuals and texts based around the headline : ‘traffic’ + ‘graphic’ = TRAPHIC. The exibition TRAPHIC represents the natural and necessary result of Marok's linguistic and artistic investigation. This show carries out the concept displayed in the book through installations, graphic artworks and videos juxtaposing various urban materials and mediums close to street culture.
“With my installment I basically want to create a parallel approach to common things. Link and connect things which are otherwise considered disparate elements, and thus create a present that is both absurd and real - just like today’s reality.” - Thomas Marecki
