Dutch Design Double joins forces and celebrates Dutch design from the 1st of September until the 31st of October 2010
More than twenty design-events in two Dutch cities spread over two months. Under the umbrella Dutch Design Double, Amsterdam and Utrecht host throughout the whole month of September and October a great variety of internationally orientated design events. Both cities are joining forces to create a handpicked selection of design and new media projects.
Rietveld:
2010 has been proclaimed as international Rietveld Year. Therefore Dutch Design Double focuses on the Utrecht architect and designer Gerrit Th. Rietveld (1888-1964) whose work includes over a hundred buildings and many pieces of furniture and was a major influence on the development of architects and designers.
Program: The Centraal Museum places Rietveld’s work in a broad context with the exhibition Rietveld's Universe. The Stedelijk Museum presents a symposium on research into the metal Rietveld chairs. Expect a Rietveld room at Elle Inside Design, a Rietveld concert by C-mon & Kypski and visit the Rietveld buildings in and around Amsterdam and Utrecht.
The Dutch Design Double events also include design events such as Dare/MaHKU, Via Milano New Dutch Design en Woonbeurs.
The full program will be available soon at dutchdesigndouble.com
